2 Valve Guides 230007S Fits Kohler K141 K161 K181 M8

Two valve guides that fit the Kohler K141, K161, K181 and M8 cast iron single cylinder engines of 6 to 8 HP. Replaces part number 230007S. A valve that rocks in its guide, oil smoke or a seat that will not stay sealed points to guide wear; measure the valve stems too. The old guide is pressed out, the new one pressed in to depth and finished to size, and the seat cut afterward to run true to it. Lap the valves and set the clearance cold at the tappets.

• TWO VALVE GUIDES - Two guides, each replacing part number 230007S, also written 230007-S.
• FITS KOHLER K141, K161, K181 AND M8 - The cast iron single cylinder engines of 6 to 8 HP. Read the model and spec numbers off the engine nameplate.
• WHEN A GUIDE IS DUE - A valve that rocks side to side in its guide, oil smoke, or a seat that will not stay sealed after lapping all point to guide wear. Measure the valve stems as well, since a worn stem looks like a worn guide.
• A SHOP JOB - The old guide is driven or pressed out, the new one pressed in to the correct depth and finished to size, and the valve seat is cut afterward so it runs true to the new guide.
• ON REASSEMBLY - Lap the valves in, check the springs and keepers, and set valve clearance cold to the service manual figure. These are side valve engines, so clearance is set at the tappet.
