Husqvarna 150BT / 350BT Rebuild Center
The Husqvarna 150BT and 350BT backpack blowers were built with two different engines, and the 2021 redesign shares no top-end parts with the earlier one. This page covers both, the part numbers our kits replace, and how to tell which engine you have.

Check these four things before you order
- Which engine you have. Measuring will not tell you, because both are 44mm. Read the serial number on the plate on the frame, not the engine shroud. The serial starts with the year it was built. If the tag says Made in USA, it is the earlier, pre-2021 engine. Where to find the tag
- Your parts list numbers. Piston 502849601 or cylinder 502848701 means the earlier engine. Piston kit 531147153 means the 2021 and newer engine. Gaskets, rings and cylinder kits for the earlier engine do not fit the newer one.
- The model. The 130BT looks the same from behind but is a 29.5cc, 38mm blower with a different top end. Check the model on the frame plate.
- Why it failed. Most failures on these blowers are a lean condition: air past a hardened base gasket, crank seal or cracked intake boot, or dust past the air filter. Pressure and vacuum test the crankcase before the new parts go on.
Which kit do I need?
- Earlier engine, cylinder is good: the 44mm piston kit, on its own or with the top-end gaskets.
- Earlier engine, cylinder is scored: a 44mm cylinder and piston kit. Choose this for deep vertical scoring, flaking plating or aluminum smeared on the bore. Versions come with gaskets, or with gaskets, seals and bearings.
- 2021 and newer engine: the 2021 and up 44mm piston kit, which includes the cylinder gaskets.
- Rings only, earlier engine: the 44mm ring set. A piston kit comes with matched rings, so you can skip this if you are replacing the piston.
- Lost power, won't idle, runs hot (earlier engine): the cylinder and muffler gasket set or the cylinder, intake and exhaust gasket set, plus the crankshaft bearings and seals if the seals are hard.
