3/8 pitch, 7 tooth sprocket that fits the Stihl 029, 034, 034 Super, 036, 036 Pro and 039 and the MS290, MS310, MS360 and MS390 chainsaws. It drives 3/8 pitch chain only, so check that your saw does not run .325 chain; the pitch is usually stamped on the bar or the chain's drive links. Compare it with your old sprocket before fitting. A sprocket with grooves worn into the tooth faces, or teeth worn sharp and hooked, wears out new chain quickly, so replace it every second chain. While it is off, clean the clutch area, check and grease the needle bearing, and look at the chain brake band.

• MATCH THE CHAIN PITCH - A 3/8 sprocket only drives 3/8 chain. If your saw runs .325 chain, this is not your sprocket. The pitch is usually stamped on the bar or on the chain's drive links.
• WHEN TO REPLACE IT - Grooves worn into the tooth faces, or teeth that have gone sharp and hooked, wear out new chain quickly. Replace the sprocket every second chain, and always when fitting new chain to a worn one.
• WHILE IT IS OFF - Clean the clutch and drum area, check the needle bearing and replace it if it is rough, and grease it lightly on assembly. Check the chain brake band for wear while you can see it.
