Valve Guide 230007S Fits Kohler K141 K161 K181 M8

Valve guide that fits the Kohler K141, K161 and K181 single cylinder engines and the M8, the 6 to 8 horsepower cast iron engines. Replaces part number 230007S. Replace it when a valve rocks in its guide, the valve stem is oily or a valve will not stay seated, since a new valve in a worn guide wears out quickly. Press the new guide in to the same depth as the old one, ream it to size, recut the seat to line up with it, lap the valve and set the clearance with the engine cold.

• FITS KOHLER K141, K161, K181 AND M8 - The 6, 7 and 8 horsepower cast iron single cylinder engines.
• SIGNS IT IS DUE - A valve that rocks side to side in its guide, oil smoke or an oily valve, and a valve that will not stay seated. A new valve in a worn guide wears out quickly.
• FITTING IT - Press the old guide out and the new one in to the same depth, then ream it to size so the valve slides freely. Recut the seat afterwards so it lines up with the new guide.
• WHILE IT IS APART - Lap the valves, check the springs for length and squareness, and set the valve clearance with the engine cold.
