Cylinder head gasket set for Kohler K482, K532 and K582 cast iron twin cylinder engines. Two gaskets per order, a complete set for one engine. Replaces Kohler part number 48-041-13-S, which supersedes the earlier 48-041-10 and 48-052-01, and cross-references to 277088 and 277630. These engines use two separate cylinder heads, so both gaskets should be replaced at the same time. Note that the K482, K532 and K582 have three different bore sizes, 3.25 inch, 3.375 inch and 3.50 inch respectively, yet share this gasket. They are built on the same block casting and deck. Clean both sealing surfaces carefully, check the heads for flatness with a straightedge, and torque the head bolts in the sequence and stages specified in your engine manual.

  • FITS KOHLER K482, K532 AND K582 cast iron twin cylinder engines. Replaces Kohler 48-041-13-S, which supersedes the earlier 48-041-10 and 48-052-01. Older cross-references are 277088 and 277630. These are air cooled engines, so there is no coolant leak to look for. A failed head gasket shows as a miss under load, soot or oil tracking out of the head joint, and compression down on one cylinder.
  • TWO GASKETS, ONE ENGINE. These are twin cylinder engines with two separate cylinder heads, so a complete job needs two gaskets and that is what this set is. No need to order twice.
  • ONE GASKET COVERS THREE DIFFERENT BORES. The K482 is 3.25 inch, the K532 is 3.375 inch and the K582 is 3.50 inch, and all three share this gasket. That is correct, not an error. The three engines share the same block casting and deck, which is why one gasket serves all of them.
  • DO BOTH SIDES AT ONCE. If one head gasket has failed on a twin, the other has seen the same hours and the same heat. Replacing one and leaving the other means pulling the shrouding off again in a season. The set is priced to do both.
  • GET THE SURFACES RIGHT. Scrape both the head and the block deck clean without gouging them, check the head for flatness with a straightedge, and torque the head bolts in the sequence and stages given in your engine manual. A head that has warped will fail a new gasket in short order no matter how carefully it goes on.
