Two piston ring sets, one per cylinder, with a 1.2mm top ring (Style B) that fit the Kohler 83mm twin-cylinder engines, at +0.08mm oversize. Replaces ring set 24-108-02-S. The oversize is metric: +0.08mm is about .003 inch, the step for a bore with light wear that is still round and within taper, not for a block that has been bored. These engines were built with 1.2mm (Style B) and 1.5mm (Style A) top ring grooves, so measure the top ring on your piston before ordering; this set is the 1.2mm. It fits the CH25, CH26, CH730, CH735, CH740, CH745, CH750, CV25, CV26, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745, CV750, SV710 to SV840 and ECV749, all 83mm bore, 725cc or 747cc. Hone for a crosshatch, check ring end gap in the bore and side clearance in the groove, and stagger the gaps on assembly. Pistons are not included.

  • +0.08MM STYLE B RING SETS - Two sets of piston rings, one per cylinder, with a 1.2mm top ring for the 83mm twins, at +0.08mm oversize. Replaces ring set 24-108-02-S.
  • FOR 1.2MM STYLE B PISTONS ONLY - These engines were built with two top ring groove widths. Measure the top ring on your piston: 1.2mm (Style B) takes this set, and 1.5mm (Style A) takes a different one.
  • +0.08MM, NOT .008 INCH - This oversize is written in millimeters: 0.08mm is about .003 inch. It is the step for a bore with light wear that is still round, not for a block that has been bored.
  • FITS KOHLER 83MM TWINS WITH STYLE B PISTONS - CH25, CH26, CH730, CH735, CH740, CH745, CH750, CV25, CV26, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745, CV750, SV710 to SV840 and ECV749. All have the 83mm bore, 725cc or 747cc.
  • WHEN RINGS ARE THE ANSWER - Rings cure oil consumption and blowby on a bore that is still round and within taper. Hone for a crosshatch, check ring end gap in the bore and side clearance in the groove, and stagger the gaps. A scored or glazed cylinder will not seal against new rings. Pistons are not included.
