2 Ring Sets 68mm Fit Kawasaki FH451V FH500V 13008-6055

Two standard bore piston ring sets for Kawasaki FH-series V-twin engines. Replaces part number 13008-6055. Bore is 68mm. One set does one cylinder and there are two sets in the box, so this is a complete engine in one order. Fits FH451V, FH480V, FH500V and FH531V. All four share the 68mm standard bore. Note that the FH480V has a shorter stroke than the others at 472cc rather than 494cc, which does not affect the rings, and that the FH531V is 494cc despite its name. The factory varies specifications within a model designation, so check your engine's model, type and serial number against the part number in your parts diagram before ordering. The numbers that get confused, and they are worth reading: 13008-6060 is 74mm, for the FH541V and FH580V. The FH531V and FH541V are one digit apart in the model name and six millimeters apart in the bore. 13008-6058 is 75.2mm, for the FH601V, FH641V, FH661V, FH680V and FH721V. 13008-6053 is 89mm, for the FC401V, FC420V and FC540V single-cylinder engines. All four numbers sit within a few digits of each other and cover four different bores. Read the number off the parts diagram. These are standard size rings. The factory oversize step for this family is 0.50mm, taking the bore to 68.48 to 68.50mm - a block bored to that size needs oversize rings and these will not seal in it. Check ring end gap in the bore before assembly and stagger the gaps around the piston. Pistons, wrist pins, clips and gaskets are not included.

• TWO RING SETS - ONE COMPLETE V-TWIN - Replaces Kawasaki part number 13008-6055. Standard bore, 68mm. One set per cylinder and two sets in the box, so one order does the whole engine and you are not waiting on a second delivery halfway through the job.
• FITS FH451V, FH480V, FH500V AND FH531V - All four run a 68mm standard bore. Kawasaki does vary specifications within a model, so check your engine's model, type and serial number against the part number before ordering.
• THE FH541V IS NOT THIS SET - It is 74mm and takes 13008-6060. One digit apart from the FH531V in the model name, six millimeters apart in the bore. That is the single most likely wrong order on this part.
• TWO MORE NUMBERS THAT GET CONFUSED - 13008-6058 is 75.2mm, for the FH601V, FH641V, FH661V, FH680V and FH721V. 13008-6053 is 89mm, for the FC401V, FC420V and FC540V. Adjacent numbers, completely different bores. Read the number off your parts diagram rather than working from the model name.
• STANDARD BORE - MEASURE FIRST - These are standard size rings. Kawasaki's oversize step for this family is 0.50mm, so a bore taken out to 68.48 to 68.50mm needs oversize rings, not these. Check ring end gap in the bore before assembly and stagger the gaps. Pistons, wrist pins, clips and gaskets are not included.
