Two Sets Kohler 80mm Piston Rings 1.2mm Style B 24-108-26-S
Two sets of standard bore piston rings for Kohler 674cc, 80mm twin-cylinder engines, Style B with a 1.2mm top compression ring. Replaces Kohler 24-108-26-S, 24 108 26-S and 2410826. Four rings per set, with a 1.2mm top compression ring. Two sets in the box, which is one complete twin-cylinder engine. Fits CH23, CV23, CH670, CH680, CV680 and CH682. CH620, CH640, CV620 and CV640 need checking. Kohler changed those engines from 624cc on a 77mm bore to 674cc on an 80mm bore partway through production, and the model number on the badge will not tell you which one you have. The displacement is printed on the engine nameplate. Read it before you order. CH20 is 77mm throughout and takes a different ring set. Style A against Style B is the other thing to get right. Kohler used two piston designs in the same engines. Style B takes a 1.2mm top ring, Style A takes 1.5mm. The style follows the piston that is in your engine, not the model number, so measure the top ring you are pulling out. If it comes out at 1.5mm, the set you want is 24-108-18-S. Top and second rings are bidirectional. Rings only - pistons, wrist pins, clips and gaskets are not included. Hone both cylinders for a crosshatch before you fit them; rings will not seal against a glazed bore. The oversize ladder for this bore, Style B: 24-108-27-S is .08 over, 24-108-28-S is .25 over, 24-108-29-S is .50 over. The 83mm standard Style B set is 25-108-01-S.
- TWO SETS - ENOUGH FOR ONE TWIN CYLINDER ENGINE - Four rings per set, with a 1.2mm top compression ring. Two sets in the box, so one order does both cylinders and you are not waiting on a second delivery halfway through the job.
- REPLACES KOHLER 24-108-26-S - Also written 24 108 26-S and 2410826. Standard bore, 80mm. This is the standard bore Style B set that Kohler still supplies, which is more than can be said for the Style A equivalent.
- FITS 674CC AND 80MM KOHLER TWINS - CH23, CV23, CH670, CH680, CV680 and CH682. CH620, CH640, CV620 and CV640 came both ways: Kohler changed those from 624cc on a 77mm bore to 674cc on an 80mm bore during production. Read the displacement off the engine nameplate before ordering. CH20 is 77mm and takes a different set.
- STYLE B IS THE 1.2MM TOP RING - MEASURE BEFORE YOU ORDER - Kohler ran two piston designs in these same engines. Style B takes a 1.2mm top ring and Style A takes 1.5mm. Mic the top ring you are pulling out, or measure the top ring groove. If yours is 1.5mm you need 24-108-18-S instead. Style follows the piston, not the model number.
- RINGS FIX SOME THINGS AND NOT OTHERS - They cure oil consumption and blowby on a bore that is still round, within taper and showing crosshatch. On a scored or hard glazed cylinder they will not seal. Hone both cylinders for a crosshatch before you fit them. Top and second rings are bidirectional. Rings only - pistons, wrist pins, clips and gaskets are not included.
