A top-end overhaul kit for the Kohler KT715, KT725, KT730, KT735, KT740 and KT745, the 83mm-bore twins of 725cc and 747cc. The same 83mm engine is used in the CH25, CH26, CH27, CH730, CH740, CH745 and CH750, the CV25, CV27, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745 and CV750, the SV710 to SV840 and the LH755 and LH775, and the kit fits those as well. It contains two 83mm standard pistons with wrist pins and circlips (replacing 24-874-30-S), two matched ring sets, the complete gasket set (head, valve cover, intake and exhaust gaskets and small O-rings), two crankshaft oil seals and crankcase sealer. Connecting rods, valves and bearings are not included. The pistons come with their own matched rings, so there is no need to measure the old ring grooves. Read the model and spec number on the blower housing decal before ordering. Before assembly, check each bore for taper and out of round, check ring end gap and groove side clearance, and follow the service manual for head bolt sequence and torque.

  • PISTONS, RINGS, GASKETS AND SEALS - Two 83mm standard pistons with wrist pins and clips, two matched ring sets, the complete gasket set with head and valve cover gaskets, two crankshaft seals and crankcase sealer. Connecting rods, valves and bearings are not included.
  • FITS KOHLER KT715, KT725, KT730, KT735, KT740 AND KT745 - The 83mm-bore twins, 725cc and 747cc. Read the model and spec number on the blower housing decal before ordering.
  • THE SAME 83MM ENGINE AS THE CH, CV AND SV TWINS - The kit also fits the CH25, CH26, CH27, CH730, CH740, CH745 and CH750, the CV25, CV27, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745 and CV750, the SV710 to SV840, and the LH755 and LH775.
  • REPLACES 24-874-30-S - The Kohler standard 83mm piston, two of them, with their own matched rings, so the kit goes into engines built with either the 1.2mm or 1.5mm ring groove without measuring the old ones.
  • MEASURE BEFORE IT GOES TOGETHER - Check each bore for taper and out of round; a bore past its limits needs boring and oversize pistons. Check ring end gap in the bore and side clearance in the groove, and tighten the head bolts in the sequence in the service manual.
