Rebuild Kit Briggs Vanguard 16 HP V-Twin 68mm Pistons
Rebuild kit for the Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 16 HP V-twins, the 29 and 30 cubic inch engines at the 68mm standard bore. The kit contains two standard 68mm pistons with ring sets (843951, which replaces 807619), two standard connecting rods (807900S), the complete gasket set with seals (841188, also listed as 808390, 847319, 842722 and 808704), spark plugs that replace RC12YC, two oil filters (492932S), a fuel filter (493629S) and 4 oz of engine assembly lube. It fits model numbers beginning 29 or 30, including 295342, 295346, 295347, 295440, 295442, 295446, 295447, 295772, 295777, 296442, 296446, 297340, 297347, 297440, 297447, 303437, 303440, 303442, 303445, 303446, 303447, 303777, 305440, 305442, 305445, 305446, 305447, 30544A, 305772, 305776, 305777, 309440 and 309447. The 18 HP Vanguard is a 35 cubic inch, 72mm engine and takes different pistons. Measure the bores and crank journals before ordering, since an oversize bore or a ground crank needs different parts. Assemble with the lube on the bearings, cam and lifters, stagger the ring gaps and follow the service manual for rod and head torque.
- PISTONS, RODS, GASKETS AND THE SERVICE PARTS - Two standard 68mm pistons with ring sets, two standard connecting rods, the complete gasket set with seals, spark plugs, two oil filters, a fuel filter and 4 oz of engine assembly lube.
- FITS BRIGGS & STRATTON VANGUARD 16 HP V-TWINS, 29 AND 30 CUBIC INCH - The 68mm standard-bore engines with model numbers beginning 29 or 30, such as 303447, 303777, 305447, 305777 and 295447. The 18 HP Vanguard is a 35 cubic inch, 72mm engine and does not take these pistons.
- REPLACES PART NUMBERS - Pistons with rings 843951 (replaces 807619), connecting rods 807900S, gasket set 841188 (also listed as 808390, 847319, 842722 and 808704), oil filters 492932S, fuel filter 493629S, and plugs that replace RC12YC.
- STANDARD BORE AND STANDARD ROD ONLY - Measure each bore for size and taper and each crank journal before ordering. A bored cylinder needs oversize pistons and a ground crank needs undersize rods.
- ASSEMBLE WITH THE LUBE - Coat rod bearings, cam lobes and lifters with the assembly lube, stagger the ring gaps, torque the rods and heads to the service manual, and fill with fresh oil and the new filter before the first start.
