Points and Condenser Fits Kohler K361 K482 K532 K582

Breaker points and condenser that fit the Kohler K361 and the K482, K532 and K582 twins with breaker point ignition. The points replace 47 150 03 (47-150-03-S) and the condenser replaces 230722, the battery ignition condenser. A magneto engine takes condenser 47-147-01-S instead; with the battery disconnected, a magneto engine still sparks. Set the point gap to the service manual figure, typically .020 inch at full plunger lift, check the timing afterward and make sure the plunger slides freely in its bore.

• POINTS AND CONDENSER - Breaker points (replaces 47 150 03, also 47-150-03-S) and condenser (replaces 230722).
• FITS KOHLER K361, K482, K532 AND K582 - The cast iron single and twins with breaker point ignition.
• BATTERY IGNITION CONDENSER - 230722 is the battery ignition condenser. A magneto engine takes a different condenser, 47-147-01-S. Disconnect the battery and pull the engine over: if it sparks, it is a magneto.
• SET THE GAP, THEN THE TIMING - Set the point gap to the service manual figure, typically .020 inch, at full plunger lift. Check the timing afterward, since the gap changes it, and make sure the plunger slides freely.
• RULE OUT THE EASY THINGS FIRST - A fouled plug, a cracked lead or a bad ground all look like an ignition fault. Check them before the point cover comes off.
