Standard bore piston ring set for the 74mm Kawasaki FH-series V-twin. Replaces Kawasaki 13008-6060. FITS FH541V and FH580V - 74mm bore, 68mm stroke, 585cc ONE SET, ONE CYLINDER. Kawasaki packages this set per cylinder. A V-twin needs two to do the whole engine. CHECK THE BORE, NOT THE MODEL NUMBER. The FH model number is a power rating, not a displacement, and four different bores run through the range. The FH531V and the FH541V are one digit apart and six millimeters apart in the bore. THE FH RANGE BY BORE 65mm - FH381V, FH430V - 431cc - ring set 13008-7001 68mm - FH451V, FH500V, FH531V - 494cc - ring set 13008-6055 74mm - FH541V, FH580V - 585cc - ring set 13008-6060 - THIS SET 75.2mm - FH601V, FH641V, FH680V, FH721V - 675cc - ring set 13008-6058 The displacement is the easiest cross-check: 74 x 68 x two cylinders comes to 585cc. If your engine is listed at 494cc you have a 68mm engine and this is not your set. OVERSIZE. Kawasaki lists a 0.50mm oversize ring set for the 65mm, 68mm and 75.2mm families. We could not find one listed for the 74mm engines. If your block has been bored, check with a dealer before ordering rather than assuming. ON ASSEMBLY. Check ring end gap with the ring squared in the bore before you fit it to the piston, and stagger the gaps around the piston on installation.

  • FITS THE 74mm KAWASAKI FH V-TWINS - FH541V and FH580V, 585cc, 74mm bore by 68mm stroke. Replaces Kawasaki 13008-6060. One set, standard bore. This is the ring set Kawasaki specifies for these two engines and no others in the FH range.
  • ONE SET DOES ONE CYLINDER - Kawasaki packages 13008-6060 per cylinder. These are V-twins, so a complete engine needs TWO sets. Order both before you split the engine down, because finding out halfway through is how a weekend job becomes a fortnight.
  • NOT THE FH451V, FH500V OR FH531V - Those are 68mm engines, 494cc, and they take 13008-6055. Six millimeters smaller. They sit right next to the FH541V in the model numbering and the FH541V and FH531V are one digit apart, which is exactly how people get this wrong. Go by the bore, not by the model number's shape.
  • THE WHOLE FH RING MAP, BY BORE - 65mm FH381V and FH430V take 13008-7001. 68mm FH451V, FH500V and FH531V take 13008-6055. 74mm FH541V and FH580V take 13008-6060, which is this set. 75.2mm FH601V, FH641V, FH680V and FH721V take 13008-6058. Four bores, four ring sets, and the model numbers give you no clue which is which.
  • STANDARD BORE ONLY ON THIS ONE - Kawasaki lists a 0.50mm oversize ring set for the 65mm, 68mm and 75.2mm families but does not appear to list one for the 74mm. If your block has been bored oversize, check with a dealer before assuming a set exists. Check ring end gap in the bore before assembly and stagger the gaps.
