40mm Piston Kit P021002540 Fits Echo PB-413 PB-460 Blower

40mm piston kit that fits the Echo PB-413, PB-413H, PB-413T and PB-460 backpack blowers, and the PB-403, PB-403H, PB-403T, PB-413HT, PB-460LN and PB-461LN in the serial ranges built with short block SB1057. Replaces part number P021002540. The engine is 44cc with a 40mm bore and 35mm stroke, and a healthy one reads 120 to 150 psi cold. Look down the bore before fitting the new piston; scored or flaking plating means the cylinder needs replacing too. Find the cause of the old failure first: pressure and vacuum test the crankcase and check the intake and the air filter.

• FITS ECHO PB-413, PB-413H, PB-413T AND PB-460 - Also the PB-403, PB-403H, PB-403T, PB-413HT, PB-460LN and PB-461LN in the serial ranges built with short block SB1057. Check the serial plate on your blower.
• CHECK COMPRESSION FIRST - A healthy engine reads 120 to 150 psi cold. Well below that, with a scored piston or cylinder, is a top end job.
• CHECK THE CYLINDER - Look down the bore before fitting a new piston. If the plating is scored or flaking, a new piston will not seal and the cylinder needs replacing too.
• FIND OUT WHY THE OLD ONE FAILED - A scored piston had a cause: an air leak at a crankshaft seal or the intake, dust past the air filter, or a lean setting. Pressure and vacuum test the crankcase and fix the cause before the new piston runs.
