One set of standard bore piston rings for Kohler 674cc, 80mm twin-cylinder engines, Style A with a 1.5mm top compression ring. Replaces Kohler 24-108-08-S, 24-108-18-S, 2410808 and 2410818. Five rings per set, with a 1.5mm top compression ring. This listing is one set, enough for one cylinder. A twin-cylinder engine needs two sets. Fits CH23, CV23, CH670, CH680, CV680 and CH682. CH620, CH640, CV620 and CV640 need a check. Kohler changed those engines from 624cc on a 77mm bore to 674cc on an 80mm bore partway through production, and the model number on the badge does not tell you which one you have. The displacement is printed on the engine nameplate. Read it before you order. Style A against Style B is the other thing to get right. Kohler used two piston designs in the same engines. Style A takes a 1.5mm top ring, Style B takes 1.2mm. The style follows the piston in your engine, not the model number, so measure the top ring you are pulling out. If it comes out at 1.2mm you want 24-108-26-S instead. Top and second rings are bidirectional. Rings only - pistons, wrist pins, clips and gaskets are not included. Hone the cylinder for a crosshatch before you fit them; rings will not seal against a glazed bore. Related standard bore Style A sets in other bores: 77mm is 24-108-22-S, 83mm is 24-108-14-S.
- FIVE PIECE RING SET, 80MM STANDARD BORE, STYLE A - Five rings per set, with a 1.5mm top compression ring. This is ONE set, which does ONE cylinder. A twin-cylinder engine takes two sets, so order two if you are doing the whole engine rather than chasing one bad cylinder.
- REPLACES KOHLER 24-108-08-S AND 24-108-18-S - Also written 24 108 08-S, 2410808, 24-108-18, 24 108 18-S and 2410818. Kohler superseded 24-108-08-S to 24-108-18-S, so both numbers point at this same standard bore Style A set.
- FITS 674CC AND 80MM KOHLER TWINS - CH23, CV23, CH670, CH680, CV680 and CH682. CH620, CH640, CV620 and CV640 came both ways: Kohler changed those from 624cc on a 77mm bore to 674cc on an 80mm bore during production. Read the displacement off the engine nameplate before ordering. CH20 is 77mm and takes a different set.
- STYLE A IS THE 1.5MM TOP RING - MEASURE BEFORE YOU ORDER - Kohler ran two piston designs in these same engines. Style A takes a 1.5mm top ring and Style B takes 1.2mm. Mic the top ring you are pulling out, or measure the top ring groove. If yours is 1.2mm you need the Style B set, 24-108-26-S. Style follows the piston, not the model number.
- RINGS FIX SOME THINGS AND NOT OTHERS - They cure oil consumption and blowby on a bore that is still round, within taper and showing crosshatch. On a scored or hard glazed cylinder they will not seal and you will be back inside the engine. Hone for a crosshatch before you fit them. Top and second rings are bidirectional. Rings only - pistons, wrist pins, clips and gaskets are not included.
