Crankshaft seal set that fits the Stihl 009, 010, 011, 012 and 015 chainsaws. Replaces seals 9640-003-1330 and 9640-003-1320 (9640 003 1330 and 9640 003 1320). The two seals are different sizes, so note which end each came from. A hard or cracked seal lets air into the crankcase, and the saw runs lean, will not hold an idle and eventually scores its piston. Note which way the lip faces, press the new seals in square, oil the lips, and pressure and vacuum test the crankcase before running the saw.

  • CRANKSHAFT SEAL SET - Replaces seals 9640-003-1330 and 9640-003-1320, also written 9640 003 1330 and 9640 003 1320. The two are different sizes, so note which end of the crankshaft each came from.
  • FITS STIHL 009, 010, 011, 012 AND 015 CHAINSAWS - The small saws of that family. Compare the old seals with these before fitting.
  • WHY SEALS GO - A hard or cracked crankshaft seal lets air into the crankcase. The saw runs lean, will not hold an idle or a tune, revs and hangs, and in time scores its piston.
  • FITTING THEM - Note which way the lip faces, pull the old seal without levering on the bearing, and press the new one in square on its outer edge. Oil the lip before the crankshaft goes through.
  • TEST BEFORE IT RUNS - Pressure and vacuum test the crankcase once both seals are in. It is the only way to know the leak is gone, and it costs much less than a piston.
