2 Ring Sets 83.75mm .030 1.2mm Fits Kohler CH740 CV740

Two .030 oversize (83.75mm) piston ring sets, one for each cylinder, that fit the Kohler 83mm twins with Style B pistons, the ones that take a 1.2mm top compression ring. Fits the CH25, CH26, CH730, CH735, CH740, CH742, CH745 and CH750, the CV25, CV26, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745, CV750 and ECV749, and the SV710 to SV740 and SV810 to SV840. Two ring thicknesses were used on these engines; if your piston takes 1.5mm rings, these will not fit, so measure the old top ring before ordering. Standard bore is 83mm, so these rings are for cylinders machined .030 over to 83.75mm. Check ring end gap in each bore, stagger the gaps and use a ring compressor.

• TWO RING SETS, 83.75MM (.030 OVERSIZE) - One complete set for each cylinder of a twin.
• 1.2MM TOP RING, STYLE B PISTONS - Two ring thicknesses were used on these engines. These are for pistons that take a 1.2mm top compression ring. If your piston takes 1.5mm rings, these will not fit, so measure the old top ring before ordering.
• FITS KOHLER 83MM TWINS - CH25, CH26, CH730, CH735, CH740, CH742, CH745 and CH750. Vertical shaft CV25, CV26, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745, CV750 and ECV749. The SV710 to SV740 and SV810 to SV840. Read the model and spec numbers off the engine decal.
• FOR CYLINDERS BORED .030 OVER - Standard bore is 83mm, so these are for cylinders machined to 83.75mm. They will not seal a standard bore. Have both cylinders bored to fit the pistons going in.
• ON ASSEMBLY - Hone for a crosshatch after boring and wash the bores in hot soapy water. Check ring end gap in each bore, fit each ring with its mark facing up, stagger the gaps, and use a ring compressor.
