48mm Piston Kit Echo PB-750 PB-751 PB-770 P021002984

Piston kit, 48mm, for the 63.3cc Echo backpack blower engine. Replaces Echo part number P021002984. Six pieces: piston, two piston rings, wrist pin and two circlips. One thing to clear up first. P021002983 and P021002984 are not two different parts and you do not need both. P021002983 is the earlier number and Echo superseded it to P021002984. Whichever number your parts diagram shows, this is the piston. Fits PB-750, PB-750H, PB-750T, PB-751H, PB-751T, PB-770, PB-770H, PB-770T, PB-650, PB-651H and PB-651T. The piston is shared across that whole group. The cylinder is not - it varies by model group - so order a cylinder against your own model number if you need one. The two rings on this piston are different parts. Echo lists them as A101000030 and A101000020 and they are not interchangeable between the two grooves. They are supplied unmarked, so lay them out against the rings you removed, or against the parts diagram, before you fit them. Worth doing - the smaller PB-580 piston takes two identical rings and it is easy to assume this one does too. Piston kit only. Cylinder, needle bearing, gaskets and crankshaft seals are not included. Inspect the cylinder bore before assembly. Aftermarket replacement part. Before you run the new piston, work out why the old one failed. A blower piston that scored usually ran lean or ran hot. Check the intake boot for cracks, pressure and vacuum test the crankcase, clear the cooling fins and fit a clean air filter.

• FITS THE 63.3CC ECHO BACKPACK BLOWER ENGINE - PB-750, PB-750H, PB-750T, PB-751H, PB-751T, PB-770, PB-770H, PB-770T, PB-650, PB-651H and PB-651T. The piston is common across that group. The cylinder is not, so if you need a cylinder as well, order it against your own model number.
• THE TWO RINGS ARE NOT THE SAME PART - Echo catalogues them separately, A101000030 and A101000020, and they are not interchangeable between the two grooves. They arrive unmarked, so lay them out against your old rings or the parts diagram before you fit them. The smaller PB-580 piston takes two identical rings; this one does not.
• PISTON KIT ONLY - Cylinder, needle bearing, gaskets and crankshaft seals are not included. Look down the bore before you fit a new piston. Scored or flaking cylinder plating will take a new piston with it, and a piston alone will not fix that machine.
• WHY IT FAILED MATTERS MORE THAN THE PISTON - A blower piston that scored usually ran lean or ran hot rather than simply wearing out. Check the intake boot for cracks, pressure and vacuum test the crankcase, clear the cooling fins and fit a clean air filter before you run the new one. Cylinder, needle bearing, gaskets and crankshaft seals are not included.
