A solid-state ignition module that replaces the points and condenser on the Stihl 030, 031, 031AV and 032 chainsaws. It takes the place of the points and condenser and triggers the spark electronically through the existing coil, so there is no point gap to set and no contacts to wear. It works with two-leg and three-leg coils, and other single-cylinder saws with points and condenser and one of those coils may take it as well. It is not for saws that came with electronic or CDI ignition. To tell which you have, look under the flywheel: points ignition shows a set of contacts and a separate small condenser, while electronic ignition is a single sealed coil. Fit the module where the points and condenser were, connect it to the coil, set the coil-to-flywheel air gap to the service manual figure, and check for spark before the saw goes back together.
