Kohler also built 77mm and 83mm twins and neither takes this part. You do not need to work out whether your engine ran 1.5mm or 1.2mm rings: the piston and its rings ship together as a matched set, so they agree with each other. That question only matters when buying rings on their own. More than a few thousandths of taper and a new piston will not seal, and the block wants boring and an oversize piston instead. Check ring end gap in the bore the rings will actually run in, and side clearance in the piston groove.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWHAT ELSE THE JOB WANTS - Scuff the bore with a hone so the rings have a surface to bed into. Clean the closure plate and oil pan faces back to bare metal before any sealant goes on.
