Ring and gasket kit for the Briggs & Stratton 44 cubic inch Intek V-twins at the 79.25mm bore, the engines built from code date 05071800 on. The kit contains two standard piston ring sets, part number 792026 (which superseded 793561), one per cylinder, and the 694012 engine gasket set. Pistons, connecting rods and valves are not included. It fits model numbers beginning 441, 445, 446 and 44C through 44U, including 441577, 441677, 441777, 445577, 445677, 445777, 445877, 446677, 446777, 44C677, 44C777, 44C877, 44H777, 44J677, 44K777, 44L777, 44L977, 44M777, 44M977, 44N677, 44N777, 44N877, 44P777, 44Q777, 44Q977, 44R577, 44R677, 44R777, 44R877, 44S577, 44S677, 44S777, 44S877, 44S977, 44T677, 44T777, 44T877, 44T977, 44U577, 44U677, 44U777 and 44U877, and short blocks 698172, 698173, 792046, 797091, 797092 and 797093. Engines built before code 05071800 used ring set 694004 or 697683, so read the model, type and code on the engine shroud first. Measure each bore, hone lightly, check end gap in the bore, fit the rings marked side up with the gaps staggered, and follow the service manual for head torque.
- TWO RING SETS AND THE FULL GASKET SET - Two standard 792026 piston ring sets, one for each cylinder, and the 694012 engine gasket set. Pistons, connecting rods and valves are not included.
- FITS BRIGGS & STRATTON 44 CUBIC INCH INTEK V-TWINS - The 79.25mm-bore engines built from code date 05071800 on, model numbers beginning 441, 445, 446 and 44C through 44U, such as 441777, 445777, 446777, 44M777, 44N777 and 44T977, and short blocks 698172, 698173, 792046, 797091, 797092 and 797093.
- CHECK THE CODE DATE - Engines built before code 05071800 used the earlier ring sets 694004 or 697683 instead. Read the model, type and code on the engine shroud before ordering.
- REPLACES 792026, 793561 AND 694012 - 792026 superseded 793561 for the rings, and 694012 is the engine gasket set. If your parts list shows these numbers, this kit covers them.
- MEASURE, HONE, THEN RING - Check each bore for size and taper. If they are within limits, a light hone gives the new rings a crosshatch to seat against. Check end gap in the bore, fit the rings marked side up and stagger the gaps around the piston.
