One flywheel-side seal and one PTO-side seal - a complete set for one engine. Four part numbers cover these two seals, because both sides have been superseded: Flywheel side - 24-032-01-S superseded to 24-032-19-S PTO side - 52-032-08-S superseded to 25-032-06-S Whichever of those four numbers your parts diagram or dealer lists, this set covers it. The two seals are different parts. They are not the same size and they do not interchange, so note which end each one came off before you start. Fits the CH horizontal engines - CH18, CH20, CH22, CH23, CH25, CH26, CH620, CH640, CH670, CH680, CH730, CH740 and CH750 - and the CV vertical engines - CV18, CV20, CV22, CV25, CV620, CV640, CV740 and CV750. Also SV710 through SV840 and the KT725. On a CV the PTO seal is at the bottom of the engine rather than the back, which is why the same part gets called both a rear seal and a PTO seal. These are helix-lip seals. The lip is cut on an angle so that crankshaft rotation pumps oil back into the crankcase. A helix seal fitted backwards, or a plain flat-lip seal used in its place, will leak from the day it goes in. Press them in square, lip facing inward, and lubricate the lip before the crankshaft passes through it. One more thing worth knowing before you start. When one of these twins keeps pushing oil past a seal that is only a few hours old, the seal is usually not the problem - a plugged crankcase breather is building pressure in the crankcase and forcing oil past it. Clean or replace the breather while the engine is open. Tape over the crankshaft keyway and any step in the shaft before sliding the seal on, so the sharp edge does not cut the lip.

TWO DIFFERENT SEALS, NOT TWO OF THE SAME - One flywheel-side seal and one PTO-side seal. They are different sizes and they are not interchangeable, so note which end each one came off before you fit them. This set does one engine.

FOUR PART NUMBERS, TWO SEALS - The flywheel side went from 24-032-01-S to 24-032-19-S, and the PTO side from 52-032-08-S to 25-032-06-S. All four numbers point at these two seals, so whichever number your parts diagram shows, this is the set.

FITS KOHLER CH AND CV TWINS - CH18, CH20, CH22, CH23, CH25, CH26, CH620, CH640, CH670, CH680, CH730, CH740, CH750, and CV18, CV20, CV22, CV25, CV620, CV640, CV740, CV750. Also SV710 through SV840 and the KT725. This part spans both bore families, so the 77mm and 83mm question does not apply.

THE LIP IS DIRECTIONAL - These are helix-lip seals, which means the lip is cut to pump oil back as the crank turns. Fitted backwards, or swapped for a plain flat-lip seal, they leak from new. Press them in square, with the lip facing in, and lubricate the lip before the crank goes through it.

IF THE NEW SEAL LEAKS, LOOK AT THE BREATHER - The most common reason one of these twins pushes oil past a good seal is a plugged crankcase breather building pressure in the crankcase. Clean the breather while you are in there. Tape over the crankshaft keyway so it does not cut the lip going on. Gaskets, bearings and the breather itself are not included.

https://performancesawsupply.com/products/2-kohler-crankshaft-seals-ch-cv-twin-24-032-19-s-25-032-06-s-q7-d2yu-m5de
