A pair of 83mm standard pistons with matched rings for the Kohler 83mm twin-cylinder engines, for rebuilding both cylinders. The kit contains two pistons with wrist pins and circlips and two ring sets with a 1.2mm top ring, second ring and three-piece oil ring. Gaskets, seals, connecting rods and valves are not included. These engines were built with two ring groove styles, 1.2mm and 1.5mm; because the pistons and rings are replaced together, the pair fits either without measuring the old rings. It fits the CH25, CH26, CH27, CH730, CH735, CH740, CH745, CH750, CV25, CV26, CV27, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745, CV750, KT715, KT725, KT730, KT735, KT740, KT745, SV710 to SV840, LH755, LH775 and ECV749: all 83mm bore, 725cc or 747cc. Read the model and spec number on the blower housing decal before ordering, since horsepower alone does not identify the engine. Before assembly, check each bore for taper and out of round, check ring end gap and groove side clearance, and use a ring compressor. Each piston replaces Kohler 24-874-30-S.

  • TWO PISTONS WITH RINGS - Two 83mm standard pistons with wrist pins and circlips, and two matched ring sets with a 1.2mm top ring. Gaskets, seals, connecting rods and valves are not included.
  • NO RING-STYLE CHECK NEEDED - These engines were built with 1.2mm (Style B) and 1.5mm (Style A) ring grooves. New pistons come with their own matched rings, so the pair goes into either engine without measuring the old rings.
  • FITS KOHLER 83MM TWINS - CH25, CH26, CH27, CH730, CH735, CH740, CH745, CH750, CV25, CV26, CV27, CV724, CV725, CV730, CV740, CV745, CV750, KT715, KT725, KT730, KT735, KT740, KT745, SV710 to SV840, LH755, LH775 and ECV749. All have the 83mm bore, 725cc or 747cc.
  • READ THE ENGINE DECAL FIRST - The model and spec number on the blower housing identify the engine. Horsepower alone does not, because the same horsepower was sold on more than one bore.
  • MEASURE BEFORE IT GOES TOGETHER - Check each bore for taper and out of round; a bore past its limits needs boring and oversize pistons, not standard ones. Check ring end gap in the bore and side clearance in the groove, and use a ring compressor.
