Crafted from durable materials, they offer long-lasting performance and resistance to wear and tear. Ensure proper maintenance and extend the lifespan of your equipment with these essential replacement parts. Upgrade your Kohler engine today with these compatible valve cover O-rings and experience smooth, uninterrupted operation.

  • TWO VALVE COVER O-RINGS - A pair of valve cover O-rings replacing Kohler 24-153-30-S, for the CV18, CV20, CV22, CV23, CV25, CV620, CV740 and CV750. Two per order, which is one per valve cover on a twin.
  • WHY THEY LEAK, AND WHEN TO CHANGE THEM - A valve cover O-ring hardens and takes a set, and then it weeps oil down the side of the engine where it looks like a far worse leak than it is. They cost very little and they are the first thing to change on an oil film around the valve covers.
  • FIT IT DRY AND DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN - Clean the groove in the cover and the sealing face on the head before the new ring goes in. These seal by being squeezed, not by being crushed, so a cover pulled down too hard will distort and leak again. Check the cover itself is flat while it is off.
  • WHAT ELSE TO LOOK AT WHILE THE COVER IS OFF - This is the easiest look you will get at the valve train. Check the rocker arms for wear and the pushrods for straightness by rolling them on a flat surface. On a hydraulic lifter engine there is no lash to set, but a noisy top end is worth investigating while you are in there.
  • RELATED PARTS - The breather gasket, head gasket and valve stem seals all sit in the same job. The valve stem seal is 25-032-14-S. If the engine is using oil rather than leaking it, the stem seals are the more likely cause and the covers are only where you noticed it.
