One-piece electronic ignition coil with the trigger module built in, for Stihl 009, 009L, 010, 011, 012 and 020. Replaces Stihl part number 1114-404-3200. We had these made for the 020 saw, and they suit the whole 009 through 012 family. Because the trigger is integral, this one unit does the whole job. These saws were built two ways and it replaces either: On a saw still running breaker points, the points and the condenser come out and this goes in. There is nothing left to file, gap or wear. On a saw with the later two-piece electronic system, this replaces the external coil AND makes the trigger element under the flywheel redundant. That element is not used with this coil and should be removed. Setting it up: the air gap between the coil legs and the flywheel magnets wants to be 0.2 to 0.3mm, which is 0.008 to 0.012 inch. Hold the gap with a feeler gauge or a folded business card while you snug the mounting screws, then turn the engine over by hand to be sure nothing contacts. One number to be careful of. The 021, 023, 025, MS210, MS230 and MS250 use a different coil, 0000-400-1306. If that is what your parts diagram shows, this is not your part. And before replacing anything, confirm the ignition is actually at fault. Pull the plug, ground it against the cylinder and crank the saw. No spark, with sound kill-switch wiring, points at the coil. Hard starting, weak running or a saw that dies when hot is at least as likely to be fuel, an air leak or compression. The plug boot is included with the coil. Spark plug, flywheel and kill switch are not included.

  • ONE PIECE COIL, TRIGGER BUILT IN - Replaces Stihl part number 1114-404-3200. Everything the ignition needs is in this single unit. There is no separate trigger module to buy and no points or condenser to fit. We had these made for the 020 saw.
  • FITS STIHL 009, 009L, 010, 011, 012 AND 020 - It replaces either arrangement these saws were built with: the original points ignition coil, or the later two-piece electronic coil. Whichever your saw has now, this takes its place.
  • THE ELECTRONIC ELEMENT UNDER THE FLYWHEEL COMES OUT - If your saw has the two-piece electronic system, the trigger element that sits under the flywheel is not used with this coil and should be removed. The trigger is built into the coil itself. On a points saw, the points and condenser come out instead.
  • SET THE AIR GAP ON ASSEMBLY - Stihl's figure across this generation is 0.2 to 0.3mm, which is 0.008 to 0.012 inch, between the coil legs and the flywheel magnets. Hold the gap with a feeler gauge or a business card while you snug the screws, then turn the engine over by hand to confirm nothing touches.
  • THIS IS NOT THE 021, 023, 025 OR MS250 COIL - Those saws take 0000-400-1306, a different part. If that is the number in your parts diagram, this is not what you want. And before you replace anything, ground the plug against the cylinder and crank it - no spark with sound kill-switch wiring is what sends you here. The plug boot is included with the coil. Spark plug, flywheel and kill switch are not included.
