A recoil starter spring for the Homelite Super 2, XL, 180, 200, 240 and 245 chainsaws, replacing A97908 and 96999. Replace it when the rope will not rewind, rewinds only part way or comes back slowly, and check the pulley and pawls while it is apart. Wear eye protection and gloves; seat the outer hook in the housing, wind it in the right direction, lightly grease it, and preload the pulley a few turns before fitting the rope.
