Breaker points, condenser and ignition coil for the Homelite 1050, Wiz 55, Super Wiz 55, 66, 80 and 77 points-ignition chainsaws. Replace them when the spark is weak or missing, when the saw dies as it warms up, or when the points are burned and pitted; a failing condenser burns the points, so the two go in together. Set the point gap with a feeler gauge at full opening on the cam, clean the contacts and set the coil-to-flywheel air gap. While it is apart, check the flywheel key, the kill switch wire and the plug lead, since a sheared key or a grounded wire gives the same symptoms as bad points.

  • POINTS, CONDENSER AND IGNITION COIL - The three parts of a points ignition, replaced together.
  • FITS HOMELITE 1050, WIZ 55, SUPER WIZ 55, 66, 80 AND 77 - The points-ignition saws. Check the model plate before ordering.
  • WHEN IT NEEDS THEM - A weak or missing spark, a saw that dies as it warms up, or burned and pitted points. A failing condenser burns the points, so the two go in together.
  • SET THE GAP - Set the point gap with a feeler gauge at full opening on the cam, clean the contacts, and set the coil-to-flywheel air gap before closing it up.
  • CHECK WHILE IT IS APART - Look at the flywheel key, the kill switch wire and the plug lead for chafing; a sheared key or a grounded wire gives the same symptoms as bad points.
